Homebound Services
This is a program of home delivery of library materials for Oceanside residents who are unable to visit one of our library locations due to disability.

To receive this service, one must have a current library card and fill out a Homebound Services Application. Both matters may be handled by a family member or surrogate if the applicant desires.

The Homebound Coordinator will contact the applicant to explain how to request books and other materials. She will set up a schedule of delivery, depending upon the individual's needs, and on the availability of our volunteer drivers.

Materials available to homebound library borrowers include fiction, large print books, books-on-tape, audio cassettes, videos and magazines.

Please note: the program relies upon volunteers to pick up and deliver books and materials. Our best efforts are made to select appropriate materials and deliver them in a timely manner. Volunteers to the program are always welcome!
Call Homebound Services Coordinator Oksana Radomyshelsky at (760) 435-5657 for more information.

Large Print Books
The Library maintains an extensive Large Print collection for anyone wishing to read in the larger format. Materials available include the most current best-sellers and other popular fiction, classics, and a wide range of non-fiction materials.

Library users with more extensive vision problems may wish to browse our Books-on-Tape or Books-on-CD materials. We keep these collections updated with recent releases as well.

Braille Institute Talking Books
The Braille Institute (address & phone below) now delivers both the Talking Book tapes and the machines directly to your home by U.S. Mail. Both machines and tapes can be returned to the Braille Institute the same way, at no cost. But if you wish, you may exchange a malfunctioning machine at the Civic Center Library AV Desk. A small supply of machines is kept on hand to facilitate such exchanges.
