Whether you are visiting the Civic Center Library and Mission Branch Library, you should come hang out in the Teen Zone! In the Teen Zone you will find:
  • Fantasy novels, “chic-lit”, sports stories, and lots more of your favorite fiction.
  • "Classics”: novels, stories, and plays for assigned reading and book reports plus Cliffs Notes and other English homework aids.
  • Nonfiction books for information for personal interest and homework.
  • Books and resources on careers and applying for college, financial aid, and local and national scholarships.
  • Magazines on music, sports, pop culture and more.
  • Manga and graphic novels (comics) covering the wide range of Japanese and American titles.
  • Music Collection with all your favorite artists!

Computer Resources - all FREE
Try the RESEARCH FROM HOME page to see how the Library can help with homework and other questions while you’re at home or school.

In the Library:

  • Access to PCs to use Internet, write papers, etc.
  • Special databases that can supply info for homework, choosing a college and more

ACTIVITIES FOR TEENS

TEEN PARTNERS
Are you between 14 and 18 years old? Are you interested in volunteering at the Library? If you are then join the Teen Partners, gain some work experience, get your service credits, or just help out at Library programs. Make new friends! Be an active member of your community.

TEEN ADVISORY BOARD
For grades 6 through 12

Want to have a say in what’s going on at the Library? This is your chance to let your voice be heard! The Teen Advisory Board is a forum to help make the Library a better place for teens. Help us select new items that you may be interested in: Novels, Manga, Music and Movies. The Advisory Board meets every other month, check Calendar of Events for dates and locations.

SERVICES FOR EDUCATORS

  • Booktalk visits to Middle and High Schools
  • Tours for classes and groups 7th grade and up. We can tailor the tour to YOUR needs, e.g. research on a specific topic, general overview, booktalks, computer resources, and more.
